Digital media allow me to emphasize specific elements of my subject matter. My work draws from interactions, habits, and reasoning to form pieces that are simultaneously individual and relatable. The subsequent pieces combine text and imagery to evoke a personal voice, but one that also articulates common experiences.

My current work is the creation of a persona investigating the nature of certainty and self. I continually attempt to rationalize experiences, validate decisions, standardize routines, and evaluate my presence.
Hand
writing and photocopying preserve the organic nature of my process.

Turner Hilliker was raised in Virginia and was influenced by his father’s mind-set and his mother’s open-mindedness. He obtained a BFA in Graphic Design from James Madison University and worked as assistant designer with the United States Marine Corps.
