A Manual for Future Departures is a collaborative response to the reality of leaving, prompted in part during the 2008 election, when Deborah declared she would leave the country if a republican president was elected. During extended periods of telephone dialogue over a long distance, we began answering the questions one needs to consider when leaving: 1) “When would one leave?” 2) “What would be brought along?” and 3) “How would one travel?” The answers to these questions can be found in our piece.
Cheryl Bailey is a Denver area artist who earned an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BA in Art from Metro State College in Denver. She is a member of Edge Gallery and is represented by Abecedarian Gallery in Denver. Her work is in public and private collections throughout the country. Deborah Henson earned a BFA in photography from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is an active member of Edge Gallery and has exhibited widely in the Colorado region.
