Nine linocuts printed in very dark blue on wrapping paper. Each picture bringing in impressions of the mind which refer to far-away landscapes. Desire for remote areas, questioning if you can be brought nearer or just not.

About the artist:
Lives and works in Enschede, The Netherlands.
Frans Baake studied Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts AKI in Enschede and the Rijkacademie in Amsterdam. Mainly based on travels to islands (Aleutians, Falklands f.i.) he usually makes printings and artists’ books which contain photographs, woodcuts, collages, texts, associations. He often prints, binds and publishes them in a small edition. His books are held in collections worldwide. Recently he visited Tristan da Cunha, the remotest island in the world.
