Wrapped in precious red velvet, this ‘office-system’ contains 8 woodprints and photographs, all printed in sparkling yellow. Baake’s fascination for similarity in printing works made the artist putting in each sheet for exactly 32 times. To be clear: you get 10% of the printed edition at once; into the bargain, to keep the load loaded.
Paper, ink, 3 ring binder, velveteen fabric.
Frans Baake studied Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts AKI in Enschede. Afterwards he followed a course of Graphics at the Rijkacademie in Amsterdam. Based on travels to islands (Aleutians, Falklands f.i.) he usually makes printings and artists’ books, containing photographs, woodcuts, collages, texts, associations, often bound in small editions. His work is in numerous collections worldwide.
