Description
The Legend of Enzio Bandinelli: True Born Son of Madrone and Ninja
About this piece:
I have a friend in my reenactment group, whose alter ego is the Magnificent Enzio Bandinelli. As it happens, my friend is shy, but also tells incredibly funny stories when you get to know him. This is a book of story teasers, for the hilarious stories my friend tells. The hope is that people will seek him out and ask to hear the stories. I think of it as a zine of friendship, or possibly just an Enzio Bandinelli advertisement.
This was printed on a C&P, and the imprint bears both my medieval fantasy press name (Temetgen) and my modern one (Notta Pixie Press).
Some of the woodcuts are reproductions from Achille Marozzo’s 16th century fencing instruction book, some were made just for this book, some are reprints from a deck of cards. I used what I had on hand.
Some images are reprints from a Deck of Cards that I collaborated on with my friend, Morgan Donner (and are used with permission). She also took many silly photos of my friend Enzio Bandinelli, which I then created linoleum cuts from.
Materials:
paper, ink
