About this piece:
Origins attempts to examine where I have come from. By using the DNA analysis of myself and my brother, my lineage has been traced back 20,000 years. The maternal and paternal lineages vary greatly, coming from different parts of the world, including multiple contents and cultures. Through this altered flag book structure, I am able to graphically show the journey that my ancestors took. Each journey begins in a very different place but ultimately end up in the place where I was born and that I call home. Origins was inkjet printed on Canson Mi-Teintes in an edition of 5.
For display, this book can be left unfolded or to mimic a globe can be curved onto itself and secured with the ribbon.
