About this piece:
The black and white photos of a friend’s daughter, as a young child through early teens, inspired me to create a book that read like a film trailer or publicity stills for a film made in the 1940’s. The covers and interior pages are made of various papers and images digitally manipulated and printed with an inkjet printer. Transparent papers were given a watercolor wash and images placed inside the folds. Hinging was done using linen thread and toned Japanese papers. Knowing this girls love of movies I wrote the text as if her dreams were a film she created. The darkness seems frightening but her serene face tells something else.

All photo images of the girl were taken by Natale Caccamo, Kennett Square, PA. Text is original by the artist.
