About this piece:
Cut on Fold began with the collotype debossed image of a young girl’s dress which is stitched over with the pattern form and instructions for making a dress. The prominent threads of social and cultural expectations overwhelm the fragile, sometimes only glimpsed spirit, of what already is there.
The collotype was created with an un-inked cotton dress, the seams and details creating the relief image on the paper.
