Description

About this piece:
Falling was inspired by many outdoor experiences during the autumn – walking, hiking, shuffling through piles of fallen leaves (which brought back childhood memories), raking, and just watching leaves drift down, as well as collecting and pressing many leaf shapes and colors. Additionally, changes in temperature and amount of sunlight which cause leaves to change color and fall seem metaphorically related to changes in human lives, whether due to changes in personal circumstances, aging, cultural and political climate.

Materials:
paper, ink, thread, basswood, milk paint, fabric
