Description

About this piece:
How will computers change our memory and what is remembered of us? Now I can quickly ‘google’ questions and no longer make notes in book margins but ‘cut and paste.’ The blocks of text and binary code on two layers of this scroll are like old manuscripts where marginalia was added by later readers. And like a palimpsest, the translucent polyester allows for layers of text by Lucretius, Lu Chi, Whitman, Levertov, Rilke and others. A pattern of water is on the reverse side.

Materials:

acrylic, ink, polyester
