Artist Statement about work:

With ideation cards drawn and spread on the work table, they pointed me in this conceptual direction. A sampling from the vault of prose. Pick three; a beginning, middle and an end. If a picture is worth a million words … how much is a single word worth?

Created using the following Ideation Deck card draws: color – monochromatic; structure – unbound; image – found image; technique – unfamiliar; layout – based on a historic example; text – collaborate with a writer or poet; paper- pre-treated. Adjectives: fragmented or mosaic , non-sequential , sentimental or nostalgic , opposing or contrasting , textural

About artist:

Jayne Harnett-Hargrove is cross-trained in the world, and educated in NYC/Parsons and California/CCA in fine & theater arts, costume to couture, commercial and interpretive installation. Jayne works free-style graphic illustration codices, threading symbolism, vision, and world mythology, where images expand and enlighten the written story. As we voyeur, interpret, and resonate through the human condition, it is her hope that we find ourselves illuminated on the page.
