Artist Statement about work:
Life goes on is an artist book comparing life on the home front versus what is going on at war. The books focus is on the fact that exciting events and breakthroughs were happening in America, such as entertainment and sporting events, even though america was involved in a war. The 3 wars were chosen according to the wars my family has been involved in. The colors vary from black and white on the war side of the accordion to a lighter, energetic blue on the opposite side to show the difference in the mood of the events taking place. The titles of the war are disappearing into the background to show that the memories of the war are fading away and to show the focus on the happier times of the years. Life goes on is a book about contrast and changes in mood about different time periods.
