Description

About this piece:

This past year has been a chaotic one with a constant stream of disturbing news from Washington and/or the White House. The daily onslaught of reports regarding the dysfunction of our government and the bad behavior of those who govern is astounding, and makes it difficult not to become inured to the effect of changing laws and regulations on all living things. While the most fortunate see their lives improving, the security blanket for the rest of us is wearing thin and offers little comfort.

Paper hand decorated and scanned for background. Type designed in InDesign and laser printed. Squares sanded and holes backed with cheesecloth. Some holes stuffed with fiberfill. Cloth sashing inkjet printed and stitched to voile backing. Paper binding stitched. Quilt folds to fit into Tyvek envelope with string closure that I constructed. Envelope attached to back inside cover. Title cut with Silhouette Cameo and backed with cheesecloth.

Words, names, quotes, and Tweets gathered from various news sources and grouped into nine categories and designed in InDesign
