Description
About this piece:
A thread is a thin filament which may be entangled with other threads. A trace is a linear mark left on a surface by a continuous movement. Though threads and traces are different, each may transform the other. In the artist book th(read), I play with the way “read” is embedded in the word “thread” to create a book of threads that one can read in visual and tactile ways. In the book, inked thread creates the trace when pressed into the paper. The trace breaks free of the flat surface as threads extend from the printed lines.
Materials:
paper, ink, thread
