About this piece:
A nostalgic ballad, winding its path through womanhood, love and the beauties of nature,
Hour Twelve by Myrtle Marmaduke, is a multidimensional poem that inspired 2 female artists to create an artists book. A printmaker/bookartist and a photographer reunited to illustrate and give shape to the words. The images resonate with the text, the elements weave themselves around the model, feelings harmonize to the cosmos, inciting the reader to wander through all stages of life and the profundities of love.
The photographs were realised by Magdéleine Ferru, layered digitally and archival printed on Hahnemühle RagDuo. The narrower pages, with just a subtle change, bring new insight on the poem. Letterpress is handprinted over the visuals, and the pages are bound by Marjon Mudde.

About the artist:
Magdéleine Ferru -JustMagD- french photographer and book artist, studied photography in Montréal in 2002 then took workshop to learn graphic design and basic book binding techniques. She traveled the world for inspiration and now shows her work internationally.
Collaborator Marjon Mudde
Dutch. Trained as a printmaker in the Netherlands and bookbinding in France. Editing artists books since 1981. Set up her Parisian print studio in 1985 and moved to the South of France in 1989.
