About this piece:
Created with lithographs that depicted different space and places that I visited or invented in order to create a new space. I use the shape of key stone because once sewed all together the book creates a shape of the arch. The initial letters are relief prints printed on tea bag paper. The book contains English text – poems written by artist to describe the imagery in lithographs. The last page is written in English and Slovak using Russian Cyrillic to describe the book’s inspiration.

Tatiana Potts is originally from Slovakia. She is a printmaker and bookmaker. She creates her books using her prints that she creates with various techniques such as lithography, screen print, relief and/or intaglio. Being a person from country that doesn’t exist, she finds herself creating composite depiction of space and places that she visited or lived in, in order to reflect upon my identity, culture, language, memories, architecture, belonging and experiences of spaces and places and their constant change.
