Artist Statement about work:
This codex plays with ideas of consciousness, subconsciousness and unconsciousness. As the book was designed to be monotonous, fragmented, strange and surreal, I decided to use a cut out shirt and draw a layered stream on each page. It is repetitive and yet different on each page. There are also abstract shapes on the upper parts of the pages and a pocket on the back cover containing a strange object.
Created using the following Ideation Deck card draws: color – monochromatic; structure – codex; image – abstract; technique – low-tech; layout – minimal or restrained; text – abstract, nonverbal, gibberis; paper – minimal paper usage. Adjectives: monotonous, strange or exotic, surreal, layered, fragmented or mosaic
