The Verdigris River runs through the Osage Cuesta region of Southeastern Kansas. I lived near this river during my childhood. The book includes images of the Marsh Rainbow Bridge and surrounding countryside in the Cuesta. Other images are taken from old photos of my hometown.

My books explore the layers of consciousness and sub consciousness through which travel is experienced. I am intrigued by the concept of travel – movement from one physical point to another, travel through time, space and place. The majority of my imagery is based on my own photography as well as some vintage ephemera. Computer software is used to alter and manipulate the images. The  books are inkjet printed on a wide variety of papers. The books are hand cut and assembled using many traditional and non-traditional bookmaking techniques. I like the idea of working in a 21st century technology along with using various bookmaking methods and book structures from the past.
