Artist Statement about work:

Designed in response to the cards drawn by the gallery. Refering to the pacific coastal cliffs, the shells, frigate birds and navigators. The slit-slot spine was previously used for Pacific Fan. The images were created using collage, then photocopied.

Created using the following Ideation Deck card draws: color – primary; structure – inovative; image – symbols, charts; technique – digital; layout – asymetrical; text – none; paper- multicolours. Adjectives: loud , lyrical or musical , futuristic , colourful , sequential

About artist:

Elizabeth Steiner is a book artist with an emphasis on non-adhesive and innovative structures. Initially attended a workshop given by Claire van Vliet in 1992, and later published Woven and Interlocking Book Structures with Claire. She produces limited editions, sometimes in collaboration with an artist or author.
