About this piece:
I recently took a calligraphy class in Roman Monoline and found that the repetition of making letters over and over, the practice of putting ink on paper, to be very calming. I had filled some large sheets of paper with random brush and ink washes and decided to impose the order of the alphabet on top using a stick and black ink. The text on the reverse side reads: In these days of chaos and turmoil, it’s all I can do to remember the calming effect of just making alphabet letters.
