About this piece:
I’ve always loved fairy tales; their magical qualities, brutal unpredictability, and view into another time. These two images highlighting important moments in The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Anderson are a celebration of decorative traditional fairy tale illustrations done in my own style. The linocuts were printed without a press in a small edition of 7 each. Each print of the edition is painted by hand and has its own unique quality.
The text from both images is taken from The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Anderson.
