About this piece:
Integrating two dimensional prints into a three dimensional structure, artist book, continues my exploration of conveying my ideas in both printmaking and book arts medium. Each three pages of “Universe At Play” unfolds into a three dimensional Turkish map structure. Etched imagery is printed on both sides of the pages. The images of elegant and abstract mathematical notations become symbolic text. Display options: it can hang or stand unfolded on a wood base. I have enjoyed the playfulness of this series incorporating color, layers of complex patterns, and the variations of the Turkish map fold structure.
