About this piece:
This work was influenced by the cases that held tin and daguerreotypes in the 19th century.
The image of the little girl jumping was a copy of an old family Polaroid. The X-ray is the same person as an adult.

Artist bio:
Leighton McWilliams Leighton McWilliams is an Associate Professor and Art and Art History Department Associate Department chair at the University of Texas at Arlington. He has recently been making pieces that are a combination of his photographic and sculptural concerns. His work encompasses techniques of silver and digital printing, transparency, view camera, plastic “toy” cameras. Leighton has taught photography, film, and video production over the past 30 years. Since then, he has been included in over one hundred and fifty exhibitions.
