About the artist:
Lives and works in Denver, Colorado, United States.

Leon’s affinity for the open Southwestern Landscape developed at an early age with studies at the Colorado Arts Institute. In 1998, Leon bought his first letterpress, and 2000 saw the publication of his first editioned book, which was hand printed and bound at his DCArtPress Studio. The Colorado Mountains continue to inspire his work and approach to woodblocks. The reduction print process allows him to incorporate the spontaneity of his outdoor plein-aire sketches into the woodblock prints. This process has evolved into a set of procedures that he calls Painting with Woodblocks.
