Artist Statement about work:
Souvenirs is a collection of disciplinary and detention notices given to a fifth grade class during 1970 and 1971. It stands as a narrative of transgression and penance within the insular environment of a Catholic elementary school, besieged by a lay generation determining their own freedoms and abandoning religion altogether. It is a compilation of reflection and remembrance of the importance of discipline.
