About this piece:
This star format book is made of 5 hummingbird etchings which the artist created and hand colored with luminescent watercolors. The cut out etched birds are set into Napoli Lokta papers which are also cut out to create 3D spaces, then embellished with button flowers strung into the spaces. The title and a child’s 1912 poem are letter pressed and inset into the red book cloth cover. The book opens into an 8 inch star and closes with a ribbon tie. It is housed in a simple hinged box, covered in a fabric which depicts hummingbirds painted by by a famous German painter.

These 5 uncut hummingbird etching have been sold individually and also as sets to bird and art lovers internationally. They are printed by the artist from her created polymer plate etchings.
