About this piece:

This book is a meander (accordion) book, using letterpress printing and intaglio. The materials used for the printing were hand-set lead type, etching and photopolymer plates. The imagery for the slip case was printed from a collograph plate.

This meander accordion book is a collaboration between two artists, that uses poetry and line drawing to reflect on a 1,400 mile journey along the Mississippi from St Paul to New Orleans by bike. The front side of the book (indicated in blue) represents the river / water, and the back side (indicated in sepia) represents the land /path / dirt.
