about this piece

About this piece:

This six panel accordion fold book is created from a collage of original prints–intaglio, litho, relief and polaroid transfer prints with altered book page and inclusions. The book may be read as a codex, extended standing up as a linear narrative, and it may be displayed circular with the insides facing outward. One of the things I am attracted to when creating in the accordion format is the ability to play with multi-panel narratives. I am intrigued that juxtaposing diverse imagery facilitates the creation of new narratives. While making this book I revisited prints from my entire history as a printmaker. The process was infused with memories of printing and my personal situations at the time of each print’s making. I worked to see each image as new and fresh and unprecious so that I could combine them into new works.

Paper wrapped hard cover with ribbon tie.

Ink, polaroid transfer, paper, inclusions, ribbon
