Artist Statement about work:

This is based on the story of Ariadne she is best known for giving Theseus a ball of thread to find his way out of the Labyrinth after he slayed the Minotaur. She then journeyed with him only to be abandoned and then finds another man that loves her. This tale is about how this string is not only her legacy but connects her story. The thread then reminds us as we attach it to our finger and pull the story from the case that we all have stories and they connect us to the wonders of life. This book is to be interactive as you unwrap the thread from the case and then attach the thread then gentle pull the book from the case the pages at the top represent the end of the book and the beginning at the base. The pages are then gentle placed back together, the same as we do whenever we have an interruption in our life we soon put thins back in place.
