Turner Hilliker – Failure/Success

6 x 4, © 2010, edition of 110

Based off of the Holiday Pay zine series, Failures/Success is a book that chronicles the personal failures and inexplicable successes of Turner Hilliker. Each story is accompanied with drawings of the artist’s iconic square-man. The structure of the book gives the viewer the choice of beginning with either the episodes of success or those of failures.

Offset printed in the Borowsky Center for Publication Arts, The University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA.

Turner Hilliker has always called Northern Virginia his home. When he was younger he would build model airplanes, take apart appliances, and draw his own creations when action figures were not enough. In 2011 he received his MFA in Book Arts and Printmaking from the University of the Arts. He is currently investigating the nature of character in his work.
