About this piece:

All the movements of this piece relate to the passage of time. The swinging of the watch mechanism pendulum, and the motion of the watch images as the fan book unfolds. Time often passes quickly as demonstrated by the watch pendulum flying back and forth over the enclosed book. The book is safely tucked away avoiding the pendulum.

Parts of several wrist watches were placed on a scanner and the image captured then enlarged to appropriate size.
